Using Article Directories to Drive Traffic to Your Hubs or Website.

Browsing around hubpages I discovered that many of the most successful authors swear by using article directories to drive traffic to their hubs. Article directories are websites that contain free articles. The articles are placed in the directories by whoever owns the rights to them as a method of promotion. Every individual article has the byline of the owner placed under it, and those who eventually discover and read the article can quickly see who wrote it and find links to more of their work. It provides an easy way to get in contact with the author or owner of the article and usually links to that author or owners website for more information. All of the articles you rewrite should be placed into article directories for maximum exposure.

Article directories are a wonderful place to submit your various articles and hubs so that they will drive traffic and ultimately make you more money. Using this strategy, the readers who are interested in your subject matter will read your article, assume you are an expert on the subject and venture off to your website to find more information. Even if you are not an expert on the subject or whatever you are promoting with the article you can drive traffic to your affiliate links which provide more information and give you a cut of the sales. You can also link to your hubs or other pages and benefit from the over all increase in traffic.

For a more concrete realistic example, envision yourself as an accountant that is working from your home. You deliver a high quality article on a specific accounting method or term and distribute the article through all of the top article directories. When people are seeking out accounting information they stumble upon your article and decide they want to hire you because your information was very helpful to them and you have proved your expertise on the subject. Your contact information is easily available right there and you just gained a new, valuable client who may even use your services frequently.

Another perk is that since you have posted your article on a free article directory, many other people who run websites on the topic of accounting will use your article and its reach will be even further developing more and more of a following and even greater traffic for you. The sites who want to use your article contractually must include your byline and information in it and you benefit from the added traffic to your own projects.

There are literally thousands of free article directories all over the internet and all begging to be utilized by aspiring article writers on the internet. For the best results, you want to put a copy of your article in as many of these directories as possible to be sure you are increasing your exposure and reach even further.

Do a little experiment with a few of your hubs if you write for hubpages. Put 4 or 5 of your articles in all of the various article directories and measure how much more traffic you pull in vs your other articles that are not in directories. You will be pleasantly surprised by the results!
